For the reader who has struggled with assurance of salvation, wondering if they are secure, and needing the anchor of hope that is found in Christ Jesus.

The title promises comfort, and the book keeps that promise by taking the reader to the only place assurance can safely rest. The book of First John provides the compass: the same words that settle a genuine believer can also unsettle a false one, and Scripture does both as an act of mercy.
